Meryl Streep Plays the Kissing Game with Ellen DeGeneres: Video
By: Tracy E. Gilchrist
Two-time Academy Award winner Meryl Streep has kissed a lot of lips throughout her celebrated career but when she visited The Ellen DeGeneres Show Thursday the acting maven couldn't discern whose lips were whose when Ellen flashed photos of her costars on the screen. In fact, when presented with her second pair of female lips in the game Meryl had a tough time recalling whose they could possibly be.
As Meryl stared at the photo going through her mental Rolodex, Ellen asked, How many women have you kissed?
I can't remember how many women, Meryl replied.
Golden Globe nominee for The Iron Lady Meryl has played lesbian in Woody Allen's 1978 film Manhattan and in the 2002 film The Hours, in which Alison Janney played her partner. But Meryl has had a few more ladies in her life than merely in those two films.

Lip Service, Cancellation?

Drama on BBC Three is being downgraded meaning one of the channel's dramas, such as Lip Service or Being Human, could be axed after its next series.
The BBC announced a raft of new drama commissions for BBC One as well as confirming new seasons for Luther and Death in Paradise. However, the Radio Times reports that the increased focus on drama on BBC One is at the expense of drama on digital channel BBC Three.
The listings magazine writes The focus on BBC1 drama also came with the admission that the commitment to drama on BBC3 would be downgraded, with either Being Human or Lip Service axed after their next series or no recommission for The Fades.
Lip Service very quickly built up a loyal and devoted fan-base; the Glasgow based drama is one of the few on television aimed at lesbians in particular and the wider LGBT community in general. It starred Laura Fraser, Ruta Gedmintas and Heather Peace and a second season is due soon.
Axing any of the dramas could provoke an angry backlash for the show's respective fans but also from television experts who will argue that BBC Three has a commitment to provide dramas for its target audience irrespective of what main-stream BBC One is offering.
Juno Temple talks Jack & Diane
by Trish Bendix
Juno Temple talked with The Advocate about her upcoming role in Jack & Diane. Here's what she had to say about the film:
It's a beautiful love story between these two young women in New York. The girl I play has never fallen in love with a girl before but has an affair with a young woman who has. She makes this discovery and is mesmerized by this woman. I don't know if you've been through this but I have it's this idea of loving someone so much that you want them flowing through your veins. Not in a gross way, but just that you want this person to be a part of you. That's what the film is about. My character has these weird fantasy-dreams about become a werewolf-demon because she's keeping secrets from her girlfriend. I don't want to give too much away but there's a really great scene that symbolizes that. I had an amazing time working with Riley Keough. She's a great kisser.
I am a big fan of Juno's so I can't wait for this film to come out.

Shonda Rhimes insists that Jessica Capshaw's third pregnancy will not be a storyline on Grey's Anatomy. The showrunner tweeted:
Gotten a lot of tweets about this. So here's the word: first of all, she's not pregnant next season, she's pregnant this season. In fact, she's already showing -- our DP and costume designer are just very good at their jobs so you all haven't noticed it yet. I don't think it's gonna have any impact on story at all for us. Arizona's not gonna be pregnant and I think (hope, pray) the schedule will work out so Capshaw won't even miss an episode. Never fear, Calzonas -- I GOT YOU!
I love how scared we get when someone gets pregnant. Don't take it out Shonda, guys!

If you've been missing your weekly dose of lesbian drama, make a special date with Sam, Cat, Frankie, Tess, Sadie and the rest of the gang from Glasgow as the curtain rises on the second series of Lip Service.
The Sallis Benney Theatre, Brighton, is to host an advance showing of the first episode of the popular BBC3 series' second season. Taking place at 6.45pm on 21 February, the screening promises to be a highlight of the city's annual LGBT history month.
The event is co-hosted by BBC Pride and the LGBTQ Life Research Hub at the University of Brighton. The screening will be followed by a Q&A session with Lip Service writer and executive producer Harriet Braun, Heather Peace (pictured right) who plays Sam, Amanda Rice, BBC head of diversity, and the University of Brighton's Irmi Karl and Olu Jentzen.
Clint Eastwood's new release J.Edgar - starring Leonardo DiCaprio - made the shortlist for best film, as did Beginners: a story about a widowed father who comes out to his son, starring Christopher Plummer and Ewan McGregor.
Television shows Shameless, The Big C, Glee, Modern Family and Dancing With the Stars were all nominated for best television programme.
"As media continue to tell new stories about LGBT people and families, a majority of Americans now support full equality of LGBT Americans," Mike Thompson, GLAAD's acting president, told E! Online.
"This year's nominees enlighten and entertain, while spotlighting the diversity of our community. Audiences expect to see their own worlds reflected in media, and today more than ever, those include the lives of LGBT people.
"Viewers know that LGBT characters and stories are simply natural extensions of, and glimpses into, their own experiences from across America."
Martina Navratilova Implies that Antigay Margaret Court Doth Protest too Much
By: Michelle Garcia
Lesbian tennis champion Martina Navratilova said she suspects that her former tennis colleague-turned-antigay-spokeswoman may be suppressing her own feelings for women by passionately demoting gay rights. Court, 69, has blasted marriage equality and gay rights several times in the recent past, spurring threats of a boycott to the Australian Open.
In an open letter to Court in the Herald Sun newspaper, Navratilova wrote about seeing Court as a role model when she was 17.
Now, Navratilova wrote, her outward gay marriage stance has marred her image of the icon. She supposes that Court may have rejected her own feelings for women.
Wanda Sykes Talks Republican Candidates 'Tiny Penises' and Obsession with Gays: Video
By: Tracy E. Gilchrist
The hilarious Wanda Sykes appeared on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno Thursday and weighed in on the Republican Presidential field, taking aim at Newt Gingrich’s penis size and Rick Santorum's obsession with gay people.
"You say it is a choice to be gay; do you mean to say you had feelings for women as well as men and chose men? That might explain your certainty on the issue," Navratilova wrote.
She also wrote, "People (the straight ones) often ask: Why are people gay? I say, well, why are people straight? There is no straight answer here, so to speak. Human sexuality is multi-faceted, complex and quite fluid; genes play a part as well. How much? Who knows? But that's not really the point anyway."
